We’re Alex and Ale Oliveira

We provide personalized solutions that help individuals feel better, move better, and perform at their best by combining decades of expertise in high performance environments with specialized equipment and an integrated approach to training, recovery and wellness.

 Ale, a native of São Paulo, Brazil, is the founder of Aptare Lab, where he applies a holistic performance philosophy integrating medical, performance, and scientific principles to optimize human potential. His approach is rooted in collaboration and a multidisciplinary pursuit of excellence.

After studying Physiotherapy, Ale moved to the U.S. on a soccer scholarship and earned a degree in Athletic Training from Carson-Newman University. He holds a Master’s in Sports Medicine from Georgia State University, a Master’s in High Performance Sport and Science from Australian Catholic University, and a Graduate Certificate in Biomechanics from Auburn University. He is currently a PhD candidate in Leadership and Human Performance at Concordia University Chicago.

His professional experience spans roles with the Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Carolina Panthers, Charlotte FC and Nebraska Football as well as organizations such as P3 Sports Science and Peachtree Orthopaedics. His work integrating sports science into injury risk management, rehabilitation, and recovery earned him NBA Assistant Athletic Trainer of the Year honors and recognition from the American Heart Association.

Today, Ale serves as Founder and Human Mechanic at Aptare Lab, working with Team Penske, elite athletes, and performers, while contributing to the field through speaking and podcast appearances.

Co-owner & boss of all things

Alex Abbajay is a sports and entertainment marketing executive with 15+ years of experience leading strategic partnerships and brand activations across premier sports properties and global brands. She serves as Vice President of Sports & Entertainment Marketing at a bank in Charlotte, managing marquee partnerships including the Atlanta Braves, Charlotte Hornets, Baltimore Orioles, Florida State University Athletics, and the Charlotte Sports Foundation.

Previously, she held roles with the Tribeca Film Festival, A.S. Roma, Atlanta Hawks, The Marketing Arm, Octagon and Georgia State Athletics. She holds an M.S. from Georgia State University and a B.S. from Kennesaw State University.

Alex is known for translating brand strategy into high-impact partnerships that drive measurable results and meaningful connections. 

Andi Abbajay is the facility Experience director at Aptare Lab, holistic wellness and performance center in Indian land, SC.

Andi brings over 10 years of experience in the television industry, with work spanning major networks and productions including NBC’s Today Show, TLC, HGTV, and Peacock TV. She later transitioned into marketing within the restaurant industry, where she combined creative storytelling with brand growth and customer engagement.

Passionate about health, fitness, and personal wellness, Andi is excited to be part of an industry that inspires healthier lifestyles and helps people feel their best. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active, spending time in the gym, and encouraging balanced, sustainable wellness habits.
